Open Draw offers preparatory work as well as finished art works for sale.
We consider such pieces to be of interest, and fundamental to the process of the finished piece. As a stepping-stone towards the final artwork, preparatory work illustrates the creative process without restriction and so tends to be more freethinking in approach.
Open-Draw.com features journals, profiles & work statements of top and emerging artists in both English and Japanese. Our blog creates a community for art & design enthusiasts.
Moreover, we deal with drawings by a variety of disciplined creatives such as product designers and fashion designers.
You will not find any of these unique artworks in galleries. OPEN DRAW allows you to view real visceral pieces by practicing artists and designers and the opportunity to live with and be inspired by their work.
Open Draw makes art more accessible leading to a connection between artists, designers and collectors.
About the founder Yuki Miyake
Yuki Miyake is founder and director of Open Draw.
Yuki graduated in BA Graphic Design at Musashino Art University in Tokyo
and an MA in Communication Design at Royal College of Art in London.
Coming from a graphic design background, she has worked as a graphic designer, an art & design writer and a curator of a gallery at a members’ Bar she ran with her partner.
About the co-director Coca Rivas
Coca Rivas specialised digital strategies and communications. Coca studies BA Fine Arts and MA Drawing and Design in Universidad de Vigo, University College London and accredited MBA at Institute of Empresa. She founded Artlike Ltd 2003 with two other artists-like people.
They combined their life long passion for art and design with the extensive network they have built over the years through
working in the art and design industry. Creating the website is a natural progression.
